Time to say Good-bye

The time has come for us to say good-bye to all of you, our guests and friends, after serving our Northside neighborhood for more than a decade. There aren't enough appropriate words to express the joy that feeding you, serving you, and most of all getting to know you has brought to our hearts. We thank you for your support of our Bistro during these past years. We thank you for your kinds words this past week upon hearing about our closing--we are overwhelmed by your messages and gestures of love. Many of you--actually most of you--have become family to us and we thank you for that, too. We catered weddings for some of you and were thrilled when you or your parents came in year after year with pictures of your growing families. We watched some of you have dinner and drinks with us on your first date and eventually were so happy to celebrate your engagement, wedding and arrival of first baby! We also shared sad times with some of you coping with unexpected illnesses or the passing of your family members and felt included in your sadness. A quote from a recent e-mail sums up exactly what we always wanted and hoped to be as a neighborhood bistro, "We have not only loved your food, but feel like you are family. We have been eating with you for almost 10 years, longer than we have eaten with many of our family members. Tastebuds expanded our horizons and became a standard against which we measured other restaurants."

So THANK YOU, FRIENDS! We will miss you.

Finally, a gigantic THANK YOU to our amazing head server, bartender and friend, James. If you've been to Tastebuds then you've been served by James and you know what we mean by amazing!
